First VBS and Swimming

2 weeks ago Hayden attended his very first VBS. We were so excited for him to have something to do for 5 mornings in a row and he seemed to truly enjoy it (especially since his best bud Ryan was there). They kept the 4 year old class super busy with many crafts each day, singing songs, playing on the playground, and assembly time. Big thanks to the teachers who volunteered their time!

(Hayden has on an aqua shirt with stripes.)

Another fun summer activity has been swimming. We have 2 pools here in our neighborhood and have been trying to get to them as often as our energy allows us (okay okay...I'm the one with a lack of energy). Since my parents have been staying at a campground near here with a pool also, we decided to go to it on Saturday. Here are a few pics just to show you how Hayden loves to play with Dave in the pool. It really wears both of them out, but they have so much fun. Hayden loves his Daddy time and tends to hog him when Dave is off. I have a feeling we will be dealing with some jealousy issues in that regard when Livee gets here (which is next Tuesday!!!!), so any suggestions for smoothing the transition would be great!

37 Weeks

Not much to update on. I had a doctor's appointment on Monday and everything is still looking good. No more dilation or effacement, so I guess Livee's determined to stay put just like Hayden was. My parent's are in town, so we're getting to visit with them and they are keeping us entertained in the afternoons while Dave's at work. I feel like there are still a million things to do, but I can't possibly do everything I want. Hopefully Friday and Saturday we will get some things done and then our great LifeGroup at church is having a little shower for us on Sunday! Since Livee's bones are hardening and she's getting so big, I can feel body parts and she's starting to make my belly look a little deformed at times. Ahhh, what women go through for babies!

My first baby...

36 Week Baby Bump Pic

30 weeks (left) 36 Weeks (right)
A little bigger, huh? Please ignore the sad maternity shorts in the recent pic. They are the most comfortable thing to wear these days, and unfortunately, that means they are not very attractive!

Fortune

Here was Hayden's fortune yesterday:

"You could prosper in the field of entertainment."

Very fitting, seeing as how his new nickname is "Drama King"!

36 Weeks

I went to the doctor yesterday and everything is still looking good! Livee is measuring right on, but her weight is pretty high... 7 lbs 4 oz. We'll see if that's any different in the weeks to come. The doctor didn't seem to think that there was a 7 lb baby in my stomach, so I was at least reassured by that. I don't want her to be 10 lbs when she's born, and at the rate she's gaining (according to the ultrasounds) she would end up being exactly that!!! At this point she is completely devloped, so we are definitely down to the last stretch. Only 3 more weeks until 7/7! I'm still hoping to go into labor earlier than that, but I was only a fingertip dilated yesterday and just starting to thin out...so we'll see. Hopefully I can post a baby bump pic today or tomorrow. I'm really behind on that!!! This week Hayden is attending VBS, and we are heading to the swimming pool some afternoons. Then next week, my parents will be here...so I'm sure we will stay busy with them. The time should fly by, although I am getting more miserable by the day with this big 'ole belly!

34 Weeks!

Only 5 more weeks to go, although I am officially full term in 3 weeks! We're getting down to the home stretch and could not be more anxious for Livee to be here. I am continuing with my weekly NST's and ultrasounds as well as weekly OB visits now. I am still gaining weight regularly (27 pounds now) and my blood pressure is fine. I have slight swelling in my fingers, but it comes and goes in my feet according to how much salt I have eaten that day. I had my first charlie horse of this pregnancy last night, which was just as bad as I remember. I really hope I don't have any more! We're staying busy these days and I'm still trying to exercise regularly. I really feel much better this time around than I did with Hayden even though I do tire easily. Hopefully everything will continue to go smoothly with her growth and I won't be too exhausted by the time she's ready to arrive.
According to the ultrasound yesterday, Livee is around 5 lbs 2 oz. There is not much left in her development now, just maturation of her central nervous system and lungs and putting on weight. She's still practicing breathing and is very active. The ultrasound tech was actually begging her to stay still yesterday so she could measure her! I'm not complaining b/c I know all is well with her when I feel her moving and also I can get done with my NST's in around 20 minutes.

Livee's Nursery

We finally have Livee's nursery finished. Big thanks to my cousin Jodi for loaning us the baby bedding and glider rocker! We're using Hayden's old crib and the daybed is mine. We're planning on using it for the changing area. Now we're just waiting for her to arrive so we can enjoy it!
