16 Week Check-Up

I went for my 16 week check-up yesterday and heard the heartbeat. It was 146 bpm! Yeah! I've gained 1 pound so far, which means hopefully I won't gain the 40 pounds that I gained with Hayden. At this point with him, I had gained between 10 and 15. I never did really lose all of it, so if I could stick to 30 or under this time, it would be great. I have been staying off of sugar (only a little cheating now and then), and exercising pretty regularly...so maybe I can stay as fit as a pregnant woman can be. We go back on February 19th for an ultrasound and checkup and will find out the sex! Yay!
I usually like to post a picture and I have a great picture of Hayden from this past Sunday at naptime, but will have to post it later b/c it is not on the computer yet. We started our Kindermusik class this morning, and I think it will be something fun for us to do together. We have also been attending storytime at the library regularly. I hope that Hayden can start back in gymnastics or do soccer this spring. Everything else is just rolling right along!

Jumping the Gun...

Anyone who knows me knows that I love to decorate and organize. So today we put the crib together. We enjoy jumping the gun apparently. My cousin loaned me her crib bedding that somehow blends with what I have on the daybed, so I was a little ancy to put that on the crib. The room is still a total wreck, with boxes that need to go in the attic and be cleaned out, but now we have a nice space in the closet to work with. This means I can also start getting out little things, like washcloths and bibs and baby "stuff", out of the top of the closet. It really needs to be organized so that if we're having a boy, I can go ahead and get most of Hayden's old clothes into it and if we're having a girl I can start filling it up with new clothes from consignments and places! :) We also need a few things that we didn't have with Hayden, so we can slowly start gathering those things this spring and summer. I hope to buy most of them either off of ebay or from consignment sales. I know of one coming up in March in Muscle Shoals that I will try to go to.

Hayden was so excited about putting "Pinto's" bed together. He was a big helper with the nuts and screws. We still need to rearrange to try to free up some space, and I am hopeful that we can also fit a glider rocker in the room. We also need a larger rug, but I don't think that will be a problem either. I've already spotted one on Kohl's website that I like.
So here is the finished product!

Can I Just Say?

I made myself a cleaning schedule so that I would actually do something every day. Today was the kitchen, and can I just say that it was really nasty when I actually looked at it!?! I just cleaned it last week, so I didn't think it would be a big deal. When I started wiping down places I haven't wiped in a while, I kind of got grossed out. I never really did the "nesting" thing with Hayden, but maybe I will with this baby or if this is it, maybe it will continue! Tomorrow is dusting and vacuuming, so I am siking myself up already!

Carley Grace's Painting

Well, since I am such a great ar-tist and everything...Just kidding. My brother and sister-in-law are using pink and brown in my niece's nursery. We were out at a shop in Franklin, TN and saw a little cutsie painting with pink and brown in it for $35 or something ridiculous. Seriously, for this, it was ridiculous. So I told them I would paint something for the nursery b/c I did a little painting for Hayden's room. I hope that it matches b/c I didn't have a good pink and didn't think to pick up red while I was out. Anywho, here it is:

Of course when I started painting, Hayden wanted to paint. He bugged the stew out of me all morning long until I was done. Then, when I took a picture of the painting, he had to have his picture made too. Good thing we have him to remind us to take pictures!

Charlie Brown Mom

Here is what I say to Hayden:

Don't run into anything with your scooter!

Here is what Hayden hears:

Wha wha wha, wha wha wha..wha wha!

Changing Schedule and Baby Bump!

Dave's schedule changed this week due to someone being let go at the station. He is now Tuesday thru Saturday with Sunday and Monday off. It kind of stinks, but at least he still has a solid night shift and Sunday off so we can go to church. He's hoping that when the economy turns back around that his schedule will change back. Anywho, he had a 3 day weekend this past week b/c of his new schedule and this is what we did most of the time.

I know, I know, not very exciting, but we enjoyed it. We did go to the mall this past Monday, grabbed some lunch at a new favorite spot...the Quaker Steak and Lube, and shopped a little. Hayden got some Play-Doh and I got some things at Dillard's. Dave didn't get anything, how sad, huh? Anyways, we had a great weekend.

In a couple of weeks, we are refinancing our house so we finished up the paperwork for that and I've been trying to straighten the house all week. I felt pretty yucky last weekend, but fortunately have felt pretty good the last few nights. I'm still pretty tired, but I never got over that with Hayden and don't really expect to this time around either. I have exercised twice so far this week and will probably go tomorrow morning as well. I really love Curves and the ladies there are so sweet! When they found out I was expecting they sent me 2 different postcards expressing how excited they were for us and how much they wanted to help out by keeping me healthy! So far, I have gained 1/2 lb and 1 inch everywhere (which is a little frightening, but oh well).

To round it up...here is a new baby bump picture. 13 weeks and counting!
This bump is pooching fast!!!

Christmas in B'ham

We spent the weekend after Christmas in B'ham with Dave's family. We got to see his mom, stepdad, father, and grandparents as well as his brothers and sisters. It was busy, but fun! Hayden loved getting to open more presents, of course. Here are a few pics of the busy Saturday and Sunday.

Dave's mom, Gramma, came back to Georgia with us on Sunday. We were already in Trussville, so they met us at the new Bass store in Leeds. Yay for not backtracking! We saw the fish and the boats and the petrified animals (which kind of freaked me out). Dave got some new rainpants for work and happily wore them today.

On Monday, Gramma, Hayden and I braved the crowds and went to Ikea (after my doctor's appointment). I ended up buying Hayden a bookshelf for his room. I have been wanting it since we moved in, but it just happened to be half off on Monday! Yay! I also got some shelves for our kitchen, which we still haven't put up but hopefully will soon so I can get a picture of them too. I love Ikea, but it just wears me out. I have slept for 4 days!
*Btw, we hooked Hayden's TV up to cable and programmed 4 channels into it. He LOVES it, but still doesn't stay up there very long. He just wants to have attention and must get lonely! This morning, he turned it on for about 30 minutes after he woke up. It cracks me up!
