Hello Sunshine!

We are taking advantage of this bee-u-ta-ful weather by playing in the backyard. Livee got to swing for the first time today!

Silly Kids

Last night Hayden was watching the Incredibles on Disney XD and they kept showing infomercials. He tried and tried to convince me to buy one of the new brownie trays. He kept saying things like "We need one of those" and "Wow, it can make cakes too". Then another commercial came on for the toothpaste dispenser. He's been trying to get us to buy one of those for about a year. "Wow look, you put the toothpaste in and push and it comes out. See?" I think he's destined to be a salesman.

The four of us at Hayden's preschool.

Besides being bombarded with made for TV gadgets, Livee decided that yesterday was going to be the day and she was scared of the vacuum cleaner. Boo. She cried every time I turned it on and even cried when she caught sight of me pushing the steam mop (even though it doesn't make noise). It's like she expected it to start making noise, so she went ahead and cried to get it out of the way. She's also started blowing raspberries, crinkling her nose and snorting, lunging for everything, and rolling from all around pretty often. Also, what is the obsession with cell phones and remotes? You could place a toy remote or cell phone next to the real thing and a baby would lunge for the real thing probably every time. I don't get it.

Some of the V-day celebrations.

Hat day.
The setup.

Today we went to Hayden's belated Valentine's Day party at preschool. They also had a sheriff's deputy there to speak to them. I swear, watching the 4 year olds with the sheriff's deputy was exactly like watching a scene from Kindergarten Cop. The things kids say. I was dying laughing the whole time. For example, she asked them if they should ever touch a real gun and why they shouldn't. One kid blurts out "Because you might shoot yourself and then you would die."

Priceless.

Freakist. Snowman. Ever.

Hayden and I got out to play in the snow this morning when Livee went down for her nap. I wanted to build a snowman with Hayden since we got so much snow, but when we got out there it wouldn't pack up right. It just wasn't wet enough. Once the sun melted some of it, though, we were in business. I had seen people use potato head pieces for the face, so I decided to do that. Well, it just turned out kind of weird looking. Oh well. Hayden liked it. He decided the snowman needed hair because he has hair, so I used some limbs from the tree (after getting snow dropped on me, duh.). The hair definitely added to the freakiness.
Where was Dave? Glad you asked. He got stuck in Atlanta after work last night, so he had to sleep in a hotel. Luckily the station is reimbursing us for that unexpected expense. ☺
Now if I could just get out of the house to grab a Valentine's Day card for him and Hayden...I'm not very prepared this year.

"Llama Llama Red Pajama"

A couple of weeks ago (yes, I am a slacker), Hayden had PJ day at preschool. It's amazing how excited he gets about things at 4 1/2 that he could have cared less about at 3 1/2. He couldn't wait to wear his super duper Buzz Lightyear jammies and robe to school! So fun for them to do little things like this that he will hopefully remember. They also got to take something they sleep with (which was his blanket, of course) and a flashlight (he took Flicker). He had a great time!
Some of Hayden's buddies from class.

Super excited!
The week after that, Dave and Hayden got to go to Father's night at his preschool. I didn't get any pictures, but they had a great time at that as well. They got to sing songs and dance, color, make a craft, and play with toys together. At one point when they were coloring, Hayden looked at Dave and said, "Everybody's having fun, Daddy. I'm having fun. I love you." Such a sweet boy.

Snow - TaKe TwO!

We waited for the forecasted snow-mageddon until 12:30. Once it started it did not stop until around 7:30. I think we've gotten probably about 3 or 4 inches. Enough to cover EVERYTHING and for Hayden to have to wade through. He was SO excited to watch it snow and then to go outside after dinner, even though he had to go all by himself.

Lazy Blogger

Well, I have been kind of lazy about blogging the last week or so. I have some pictures on the camera, but I don't want to hook it up and put them on the computer. So you'll have to just wait. :)

We haven't really been doing too much. We got our tax refund last week, so I paid some medical bills (yay!). We went to IKEA on Monday and got a new dresser for Hayden and a couple of other things and for now we are holding onto the rest of the moolah until after we trade the car in. Hopefully we will be getting a new flat screen TV. This is a VERY exciting thing for us to do! Dave has been patiently waiting for several years while we have put it off.

Livee gets funnier every day and is starting to fill out a bit since I am nursing her 6 times a day now. I'm hoping our weight recheck in a couple of weeks turns out good. I really am not in the mood to argue with anyone else about my breastfeeding habits. She has also been on a schedule for the last couple of weeks. Around 5:30 she wakes up to nurse, then I put her back down until 8 or so. We take Hayden to school and when I get back home she nurses again. At around 10:30 she goes down for a nap. When she wakes up (around 12:00) she nurses, then an hour later she has 2 ounces of food. At around 2:30, she goes down for another nap then gets up and nurses. About an hour after that she has another 2 ounces of food. At 6:30 I get her ready for bed and then nurse her at 7. She goes to bed after that and I get her up at around 10pm for a dream feed. This is all pretty loose, but she does a lot better when I try to stick to a routine. She is a happy baby!!!

Hayden has been learning quite a bit at preschool. He comes home and tells me which letters he's been learning, so now we are on to writing them. This seems to be a little bit more difficult for him, so I'm trying to work with him at home. He had Father's night a couple of weeks ago and LOVED having Dave there with him. They had so much fun. Next week is the Valentine's party and then he'll be out for a few days.

In the mean time, I have been trying to keep up with housework and cooking and grocery shopping and all that jazz. It's not easy, but since Livee is finally on a routine it is working out better. I've also already started tagging baby clothes for the upcoming consignment sale in Muscle Shoals. I always consign over there because the sale is a week long and I seem to sell more. Here the sales are only 2 days. I've also been dabbling with buying things from Ebay, so I might try to sell some things on there eventually.
