Spring already?

I don't think this wonderful warm weather is going to last, but we are certainly trying to enjoy it while we can. This past weekend we walked to the playground in our neighborhood on Saturday and Sunday. Hayden got to ride his new bike...and test out the brakes. Our street is quite hilly and he wrecked several times, but he always got back on there. He's getting so big. Hard to believe he will be 6 this year and starting kindergarten!

This weekend we are headed to the Shoals for my niece's 2nd birthday! I get to hit up my first consignment sale of the year (Yipee!). I am not planning on buying any more clothes for Livee, unless they are for next year. She has plenty for this spring/summer already plus the things that I plan on making for her. I will look for a good lightweight stroller, shoes for both kiddos, clothes for Hayden, and swimsuits for Livee. I am writing this list to keep myself under control! There are just too many cute girls' clothes out there.

Just had to put this picture on here. They were having their lunch. Notice the dead mice hanging from their beaks? The boys loved it!

He begged to see the kangaroos and then only looked at them long enough for me to take a picture.

Sometimes I feel that way just around the house, but this time we actually did go to the zoo! We've been twice in the last 3 weeks. It's about a 30 minute drive with free parking, so we got a family membership. I think we are really going to enjoy it this spring and in the fall. The first time we met up with some new friends and this past Monday I took the kids by myself. I love having a membership because I don't feel like we are missing anything if we don't see everything...we'll just see it next time!

Hayden is the one with the blue jacket. He almost made it to the top and I am quite sure he will one of these days! Livee had a little nap during that time.

Latest Project

We have had a fun couple of weeks, but today I must talk about the adorable Apron Knot Dress for my niece's 2nd birthday that I sewed! Instead of pairing it with ruffle pants, I am going to search for leggings and a sweet shirt to go with it. I also plan on making 2 hairbows to accessorize... just in case she needs to wear some adorable pigtails one day. :) So excited about how easy this was! Rudeness

is unacceptable. I am very sorry for being so rude and not updating my blog! I have been too caught up in doing other things lately and have just been too lazy. Please accept my apology.


Anywho, we are all better now. I will post catch up pictures and information later, but right now I want to talk about my latest project. I bought some fabric last weekend when my mom was here and found a cutie vintage sunsuit pattern for free @Little Betty Designs. I FINALLY finished it today after only a couple of minor things that I did wrong. For example, I should have lined up the back piece starting from the top and not the bottom. I should have tightened the tension sooner while trying to sew zigzag stitches and I should have used less elastic on the back. And the list goes on...but I'm learning. I love that I'm actually using my brain!! It needed it.

Tomorrow it's back to housework. I'll have to postpone my next project - an apron knot dress from Little Lizard King - until next week because we have the Superbowl this weekend and people are actually coming over!!!
