Busy Bees

We have definitely had a busy month of June. Dave went to Cuba at the beginning of the month for work so we went back to the Shoals for a quick visit. We took the kiddies to the park and went bowling one night along with eating Sushi (my mom's new obsession). Back at home, we've been to a couple of free movies and programs at the library, been to 3 different birthday parties, and visited the pool a few times a week (except for the week that I was sick - summer colds are the pits). The next month will fly by as well because we will go back to the Shoals to celebrate Livee's birthday there (wow!), home for a few days, then off to Myrtle Beach for a week. When we come back, we will have VBS at church one week, a little over a week that is free, and then school starts and it's Hayden's 5th birthday. I knew this summer would fly, but my goodness!
This was the best picture I could get of the 4 cutie cousins.

I just love this picture of Carley Grace and Grammie.

She was making faces at Chick-A-Way one day.

Look how red they are! It was super hot!

He wouldn't smile for some reason, but he did enjoy the puppet show!

The Boy Has Skillz

Hayden got ahold of my camera one day while I was in the bathroom hanging pictures. I think he took about 60 pictures. The funniest thing is if you go through them one right after the other, but since I can't and don't want to load that many pictures on here I picked out the best ones for your amusement.

Still. Catching. Up.

At the end of May, we visited Hayden's preschool twice in one week. One night was his end of the year program in which all of the classes (2s thru 4s) sang several songs and there was a cookie reception. And then on the 28th was his end of the year party. I have to say, I did tear up a little at the party. I just LOVED his teachers so much this year because I knew that they truly cared about our little guy and wanted him to succeed so much. We will definitely miss them next year!

The 4 year old classes all together.

The Turtle class in their dressy duds all ready for the program. Why my child is completely soaked on the front I have no idea?

Hayden's in the middle on the front row. Everyone LOVED his Eton suit! They thought he was quite dapper. I thought the Spiderman tatoo on his cheek was a nice touch.

Hayden with his teachers - Ms. Giles (L) and Ms. Sentell (R)

Hayden with the "Jack's" and Mason. I think they formed a gang during the school year. :)

Catching Up

Bear with me - I will be trying to catch up on the last month (!) in the next few blogs. Can't believe I'm that far behind. Yikes!

At the end of May, we went to the Shoals for a few days to celebrate my nephew's birthday as well as my birthday. Carson had a Spiderman party and the little ones had a great time getting tattoos and playing together. I did NOT have a Spiderman party. But I did have yummy italian spaghetti and delicious ice cream with a crunchy crust made of toasted coconuts, almonds, and brown sugar plus hot fudge on top! Yum! It reminded us of the Sinful Sundae from Outback. We also took the kids to the drive-in in Russellville to see Shrek Forever After. It was a lot of fun UNTIL I smashed my camera trying to flip seats in the van in the dark. You win some....you know the rest. I really wouldn't mind taking Hayden to another drive-in when we could stay later and watch the grown-up movie while he sleeps.

Unwrapping gifts - So funny how kids swarm when there are gifts to unwrap!

Blowing out the candles - They were sparklers and they kept relighting!

Grammie and Livee in their party duds. :)

King's Drive-In - We got there early and still were too far back.

The Spread - Two vans, chairs, and snacks + 4 kids....well, it was interesting.

On my ACTUAL birthday, our little family celebrated by visiting the Varsity in Atlanta along with getting some scrumptious cupcakes from CamiCakes in Buckhead. It was a really fun day and I got some great gifts from Dave this year, so I have to give him props for that! I got a new (to me) camera to replace my smashed one and a sweet necklace that I had asked for. It was a great 31st birthday! So I'm now officially in my 30s. *Sigh*

He was avoiding eating his hotdog at the Varsity.

But he definitely wanted to chow down on these delicious cupcakes!
He got yellow with pink frosting (I think he thought it was strawberry). I got a chocolate raspberry cupcake with almond frosting (dee-lish!) and Dave got the Elvis which was a chocolate-peanut butter cupcake with banana frosting (also very yummy!).

Verbal Baby

Little toot, aka Livee, is a very verbal little girl! She can now say: uh-oh, peek-a-boo, da-da, ma-ma, hay-den, nigh-nigh. That seems like a lot for an 11 month old to me! Maybe I just can't remember???

This is what happens...

when you get addicted to a new series of books - everything goes by the wayside. The housework gets sloppy. Homecooked meals are non-existent. And the camera has 100 pictures on it that need to be put on the computer. And the blog...what blog?
Here is a sweet video of my Livee saying peek-a-boo at 11 months old! She's also SOOOO close to walking and has 2 teeth on the bottom and 4 on top!!!
