Halloween!
Our front door with decorations
Dave was off today because he switched with someone. Yay! We started off kind of slow, but picked up as the day went on. We made it to Chick-Fil-A around 2 and hung out for around an hour and a half. We came back through downtown Villa Rica and stopped to trick-or-treat at a few of the local businesses. It was only an hour into it and most of them had run out of candy, so we gave up about halfway through. We then went to Publix and let Hayden trick-or-treat and get a cookie (cause he hadn't had enough sugar already today) and picked up some diapers with my handy dandy baby club coupon. Then we came home and had dinner and Dave and Hayden headed out to trick or treat on our street. We have a TON of trick-or-treaters, but most of them don't show up until later so you can't be deceived into giving out too much candy too early, as I was last year. We did run out, but not until 9 this year. I'm just glad we got rid of most of it. I have eaten way too much of it this week! Anyway, Dave and Hayden stayed out for about an hour and a half while Livee and I held down the fort- well, she snoozed in her swing while I gave out candy. Overall, we had a great Halloween. Can't wait until next year when Livee is big enough to trick-or-treat!

Fall Party!

Class table with goodies

Owl cupcake
Hayden's Fall Party was today at preschool. They had quite the spread, but were of course too excited to eat most of it. All of the parents were quite a distraction. We got to meet all of his little friends and chat with his teachers. They think he is hilarious, just like we do. He got a goodie bag and had lots of crafts from this week to bring home. I am loving his preschool this year and we think his teachers are awesome! It has made such a difference to find one that is truly involved with the kids and has a structured day for them. Hayden has already learned so much and we look forward to the rest of the year. We took Livee with us, of course, and everyone thought she was precious and tiny. It was her naptime, but the little nosy britches had to wake up and watch every single thing that the kiddies were doing! The most exciting thing about today was that Hayden finally got to bring home the classroom mascot, a stuffed turtle named Tommy. Every child gets a turn bringing Tommy home for a weekend. When you have him you take pictures and write a little book about your adventure to take back to school and share on Monday. Hayden has been waiting to take him home since the beginning of school, so he was thrilled to get his name drawn. It should be a fun Halloween. Now I have to go make a costume for a stuffed turtle. Any suggestions?
Just thought this was funny
Sweet smiley face :)

Pumpkin Patch
Dave was off yesterday because he had switched with someone last Monday, so at around 11, we headed out to the Pumpkin Patch. First off, let me say that going from 1 to 2 kids has made my brain even more scattered. I really didn't think it would be that cold yesterday, but fortunately Dave said that he was chilly in the garage and I did go back in and get Hayden's heavy winter coat and an extra coat for me. Also, I had the camera in my hand, but somehow it didn't make it into the bag, so we took pictures with Dave's iphone. Maybe I'll have it together one of these days. Also, it turned out they only take cash or check, neither of which we had, so Dave had to go to the gas station ATM to get money. Anyway, we went to Carlton Farms in Rockmart, which is about 30 minutes from here. It is a working farm, and you can purchase beef, chicken, pork, eggs, cheese, pet's milk (unpasteurized), and other goods from them. We stopped at McDonald's before we went to the pumpkin patch, so that we would have plenty of energy for the corn maze, hayride, hay jump, haymaze, animal barn and picking out our pumpkin. We had a ton of fun, although I wasn't sure we were going to make it out of the corn maze! I think we were in there for 30 or 45 minutes. I couldn't imagine doing it at night or (yikes!) doing the haunted corn maze. I would never make it out of that one.
They already had some calves this year and were expecting more in the next few months.

Sesame Street Live!
On Friday, we (Hayden, Livee, and I) packed up and headed to the 'Ham. We had *free* tickets to Sesame Street Live on Saturday morning and invited Traci, Sam, & Sara, and Misty, Andrew, Graham, and Victoria to come with us. It was a really cute show and I was thankful that we could share our voucher fortune with some of our good friends. Sam & Graham are both 3 (with birthdays just a few days apart) and Hayden is exactly one year to the month older than them. I'm so glad that I have friends with kiddos his age that we can visit with! Anyways, all of the kids enjoyed the show and Livee even watched it for about 15 minutes! (Victoria and Livee are 2 days apart, but I didn't get a pic of Victoria because she was asleep in a sling the whole time.) I tried to get a pic of the 3 boys, but they didn't want to cooperate. Actually only 1 out of the 3 would cooperate each time I tried to get a pic. They were all tired and there was too much going on, and also too many "things" for sale that we had to refuse to buy. Hayden fell asleep before we even hit the interstate. Wish we could have gotten a smiling picture, but oh well. He did like it, really!

First attempt. Sam is okay with it, but Hayden is not. Graham refused to have his pic taken at all.

Take 2. After I made Hayden turn around.

Livee watching the show.

Livee still watching the show, and Hayden still pitching a fit not wanting his picture taken.

Our view from the tier.

3 Months Old!
Livee is 3 months old! She was sleeping through the night, but since we went to Muscle Shoals has started waking up at 1:30 and 5:30. I am getting tired of it, but she's still too little to sleep train. I'm hoping she'll go back to her old schedule soon, which was waking at 4:30 and 7:30. She smiles more and more every day and is holding her head up pretty well. She loves to watch her big brother and has discovered her hands and feet this week. She is fascinated by them. She watches when we leave the room. She eats every 3 hours and is still not on a really good nap schedule. She will only take a bottle of pumped milk from me, which totally defeats the purpose of pumping the milk and putting it into a bottle, but hopefully she will take it from Dave one of these days. She has very long eyelashes, but still very little hair. She talks to her "friends" when we lay her in the playpen or she's in her car seat. And she still loves to sleep in her swing. Can't wait until next month when we can get out the exersaucer!
She's a real sweetie and we love her so much!

Snake In The Grass
Oooooh - Dave went out in the backyard yesterday evening with Hayden and was fixing our gutter spouts and found this little beauty underneath one of them. He took pictures and found on the internet that it is only a water snake, but it still scared me enough to tell him to go kill it. When he went back out he couldn't find it. Hopefully it won't slither into the garage and scare the bejeezus out of me.

Weekend
This past weekend Hayden, Livee, & I went to Muscle Shoals for a visit. We had not been in around 6 weeks, so it was time to see family again. This was my first time making the trip alone with 2 kiddies and it wasn't that bad on the way there. The way back, however, was very long and tiring. It rained the whole way and I had to stop twice to feed Livee. It took us about 6 hours for a 3 hour, 45 minute trip. I am still tired today, and it hasn't helped that Livee is not sleeping well. She had a couple of really long nap days in Muscle Shoals and then somehow got off of her little schedule, so she's all messed up today. Anyway, on Thursday night my mom had a party for BeautiControl, so Hayden got lots of attention from all of the women at the house, which he loved. Then on Friday we went to the high school's Homecoming parade. It was a beautiful day and I got some cute pictures of Hayden and cousin Carson. Friday night we got to see my brother and sister-in-law and Carley Grace (who I didn't get pictures of for some reason). And Saturday we had professional pictures made for Livee's 3 month and Carley Grace's 7 month. Overall, it was a somewhat busy weekend, but we still had fun. Looking forward to getting back in the swing of things this week!
Waiting on the parade and having a little nap.
