Dave was off yesterday because he had switched with someone last Monday, so at around 11, we headed out to the Pumpkin Patch. First off, let me say that going from 1 to 2 kids has made my brain even more scattered. I really didn't think it would be that cold yesterday, but fortunately Dave said that he was chilly in the garage and I did go back in and get Hayden's heavy winter coat and an extra coat for me. Also, I had the camera in my hand, but somehow it didn't make it into the bag, so we took pictures with Dave's iphone. Maybe I'll have it together one of these days. Also, it turned out they only take cash or check, neither of which we had, so Dave had to go to the gas station ATM to get money. Anyway, we went to Carlton Farms in Rockmart, which is about 30 minutes from here. It is a working farm, and you can purchase beef, chicken, pork, eggs, cheese, pet's milk (unpasteurized), and other goods from them. We stopped at McDonald's before we went to the pumpkin patch, so that we would have plenty of energy for the corn maze, hayride, hay jump, haymaze, animal barn and picking out our pumpkin. We had a ton of fun, although I wasn't sure we were going to make it out of the corn maze! I think we were in there for 30 or 45 minutes. I couldn't imagine doing it at night or (yikes!) doing the haunted corn maze. I would never make it out of that one.
They already had some calves this year and were expecting more in the next few months.
