Catching Up

Bear with me - I will be trying to catch up on the last month (!) in the next few blogs. Can't believe I'm that far behind. Yikes!

At the end of May, we went to the Shoals for a few days to celebrate my nephew's birthday as well as my birthday. Carson had a Spiderman party and the little ones had a great time getting tattoos and playing together. I did NOT have a Spiderman party. But I did have yummy italian spaghetti and delicious ice cream with a crunchy crust made of toasted coconuts, almonds, and brown sugar plus hot fudge on top! Yum! It reminded us of the Sinful Sundae from Outback. We also took the kids to the drive-in in Russellville to see Shrek Forever After. It was a lot of fun UNTIL I smashed my camera trying to flip seats in the van in the dark. You win some....you know the rest. I really wouldn't mind taking Hayden to another drive-in when we could stay later and watch the grown-up movie while he sleeps.

Unwrapping gifts - So funny how kids swarm when there are gifts to unwrap!

Blowing out the candles - They were sparklers and they kept relighting!

Grammie and Livee in their party duds. :)

King's Drive-In - We got there early and still were too far back.

The Spread - Two vans, chairs, and snacks + 4 kids....well, it was interesting.

On my ACTUAL birthday, our little family celebrated by visiting the Varsity in Atlanta along with getting some scrumptious cupcakes from CamiCakes in Buckhead. It was a really fun day and I got some great gifts from Dave this year, so I have to give him props for that! I got a new (to me) camera to replace my smashed one and a sweet necklace that I had asked for. It was a great 31st birthday! So I'm now officially in my 30s. *Sigh*

He was avoiding eating his hotdog at the Varsity.

But he definitely wanted to chow down on these delicious cupcakes!
He got yellow with pink frosting (I think he thought it was strawberry). I got a chocolate raspberry cupcake with almond frosting (dee-lish!) and Dave got the Elvis which was a chocolate-peanut butter cupcake with banana frosting (also very yummy!).
