Spring Break Bust

Instead of a fun filled Spring Break, we have had a home based semi-boring one!  I had planned to head to Alabama with the kids on Wednesday, but came down with a stomach bug instead.  By the time I recovered, I didn't want to risk spreading it to everyone over there.  On Thursday we went to the movies, but yesterday and today we will be staying at home.  Tomorrow we will get to participate in an Easter egg hunt on a friend's farm, so we look forward to that!

Potty Dance

I never thought this time would come so soon, but we are finally potty training!  The unusually warm weather motivated me to "get 'er done".  I knew I needed to get her out of diapers when I stopped remembering to change them more than twice a day (bad mom moment, I know).  She has been pooping on the potty for a few months already.  To me, potty training is all about consistency and not being lazy as a parent.  Those are two things I really have to strive to achieve.  But, in the end this is worth it!  We started by staying at home all day Friday and Saturday.  I sat her on the potty every 15 minutes and kept her either bottomless or in training pants.  Her reward for tee-tee is 2 M&M's.  Also, we bought her a princess potty and that made her even more excited about everything.  By Monday, I lengthened her to every 30 minutes and was still having to remind her to go.  Yesterday was rough in that she had an accident but I was not as diligent due to a stomach bug.  But today, she went a couple of times on her own!  I'm hoping that it's starting to click with her and am looking forward to a diaper-free future!

Disney Planning

Booking our Disney Vacation has become quite labor intensive!  I spent all day on the computer yesterday planning every meal, our park days, and everything in between.  Wowza!  Pinterest has been pretty helpful in this quest.  I have found several websites and have learned a lot!  We are going in October and I honestly can NOT wait!  I think that we are going to have so much fun.  We went 4 years ago only for a day and Hayden LOVED it, so I am looking forward to us being able to stay at a Disney resort and do all of the character dining and fun things that go along with that this time around!

I love to exercise?

Last summer, I started the couch to 5k program.  I enjoyed exercising and how it alleviated stress, and I really really really tried to LOVE running.  The key word there is "tried".  It was just not my thing.  So for a couple of months I didn't do anything.  But in January, Dave got a gym membership and I decided to try the Zumba classes there.  Well, I fell in love.  Now I don't know how I lived without it!  It's fun and it's exercise!  My legs have slimmed and I'm working on my diastasis recti problem in my belly.

Try it, but lose your ego!  You seriously can NOT worry about how you look because everyone looks dumb at one point or another!

Carley Grace's Birthday!

Opening one of her "girly" gifts from us!
We traveled to Muscle Shoals two weeks ago during winter break in order to celebrate our niece's 3rd birthday! She is such a sweetie!  I just love talking to her on the phone!  We dropped the dog off on Wednesday and headed up there to relax and visit with my family.  On Thursday, it was a beautiful day so we went to downtown Tuscumbia and walked around for most of the morning.  On Friday, Dave rode with my dad to Vicksburg, MS and back so my mom and I had the kids all day.  We went to Grandmoma and PawPaw's house for a little while and later that afternoon one of my good friends Elizabeth came over with her kids Ellis and Hollin.  Then we went and ate sushi (often the highlight of our Muscle Shoals trips - best sushi hands down!).  On Saturday we went to the party at one of the local jumping places and the kids had a blast.  (I think Uncle Dave enjoyed it too.  :)  )  They got to play and then eat cupcakes and play and watch Carley Grace open her presents and play.  I just love it when parties are relaxed and fun for the kids!  We came back home on Sunday and picked up the dog on Monday.  Overall, we had a really fun time!  Looking forward to going back during spring break for another visit!

She wouldn't let go!

Carson kept blowing out the candle.  :)
