Last Thursday, we loaded up and went to South Carolina for Papaw's inurnment service. It took us about 6 hours to get there, so we were worn out by that time. We had dinner with Dave's cousins at his aunt's house and went to bed around 11:30 that night. Hayden woke up bright and early Friday, so we decided to go to Chick-Fil-A for breakfast and then run by Wal-Mart for some new mini-DVD's for our camcorder. We threw on some clothes, told his cousin where we were going, and headed out. Except when we got to the car, I told Dave he should go back in and ask for directions to Chick-Fil-A. Oh no, he said...the GPS will take us to the nearest one. It took him a few minutes to find it in the GPS first of all, so in that time I suggested that he go in and ask his cousin for directions. No, no, no...you are being dumb for not trusting the GPS he said. Hmmmmm........So off we went, 8 miles away to Chick-Fil-A. 8 miles in Summerville is like 20 miles anywhere else, so it took us about 20 minutes to get there. After we ate, I was making fun of Dave some more because, well...because I can, so he called his cousin who told him that the nearest Chick-Fil-A was in fact 3 miles away right next to Wal-Mart. After I FINALLY got a "You were right, hunny" out of Dave, we moved on. I tell you, after 5 1/2 years, I cherish those moments. *Sigh* Then, we backtracked to Wal-Mart and picked up a few things.
This is Dave's cousin's baby, Lily. Hayden thought she was his baby!
After that, we went to his cousin's house to get ready for the service at 2 pm. It took us a while because about 5 or 6 of us had not showered that morning, so it was a good thing we started early. The service itself was nice, and they had military honors for Papaw, so that brought tears to all of our eyes. After the service, we went back to his aunt's house for sandwiches and relaxing until all of the cousins decided to go bowling.
Come on stubborn donkey!

Hayden has a play bowling kit, but had never been to a real bowling alley before, so he was super excited even though he was exhausted. After 2 tries, we ended up at an alley that had 3 lanes...enough for all of us. We bowled for 2 hours, so got 2 good games in. I thought that Hayden would get tired of it after the first game, but he kept going strong and actually beat his score the second time around! He didn't even have any help the second game! He got so into it and everyone was clapping for him, so he even did a little bow a couple of times. Too cute!

We decided to leave on Saturday, mainly because we were tired and it was raining anyway...so not much to do. We got up and headed to his aunt's for breakfast, hung around for a little while, said our goodbyes, and got in the car at around 1:30 pm. After stopping every hour or so (pregnant lady here), we made it home by 7:30 pm. I unpacked everything, and got in the bed by 9 pm. We made it to church this morning, but not to LifeGroup. We are still tired, but waiting on the Mexican food from lunch to digest so we can have our Sunday afternoon naps!
At the Mexican restaurant in Georgia. Yum yum!
So tired!
