If you've watched the news any at all, you already know that Douglas County (which is our county) is one of the ones that got hit the hardest from all of the rain. There was a lot of flooding. I-20 was closed for almost 2 solid days. Dave got called into work on Monday at midnight (Mondays and Tuesdays are his days off). At that point, we didn't know I-20 was flooded, so it took him 2 hours to get to work. It took him 3 hours to get home on Tuesday. On Wednesday, it was the same thing (he went into work again at midnight on Tuesday). On top of Dave's totally messed up schedule, we had to boil water until Friday and schools were out all week. What that means is that we have been totally bored all week long. Hayden had a fever until Wednesday, so we couldn't really go anywhere (not that there was anywhere to go). It was just a very weird and frightening situation. We were very fortunate not to have had any flooding. I finally took Hayden for his flu vaccine on Friday, so hopefully he won't get the flu or something worse than what he already had. I never took him in for his fever because he never got lethargic and I knew there was nothing they could give him unless he had some sort of infection. I just didn't want to risk getting anything worse.
This week we plan on getting out either Monday or Tuesday and going somewhere - maybe the fair, and then on Thursday Hayden, Livee and I will head to the Shoals for a few days. It's my first attempt at the drive by myself since Livee was born, so wish me luck! Now for a couple of sweet pics.
