Medicine

Well, last week I went to a moms' club meeting and had more than one mom tell me that they were convinced that Livee has reflux. The next morning I called the pediatrician and told them that I wanted something prescribed that day. I already thought that Livee had it, but was unconvinced until the other moms told me they thought she did as well. So much for doctors. Livee's doctor told me the day before that that she didn't want to give her anything since she was gaining weight so well. On many different websites, it says that weight gain has nothing to do with reflux. After the medicine has kicked in, Livee has not had projectile spit-up since Sunday! She is still fussy, but I think she still has gas issues and it may just be her temperament. Also, last night she slept from 8 pm until 7 am and the night before she slept from 8 pm until 6 am. She also seems to be getting on a little bit of a schedule during the day. She wakes up (usually) at 7 and eats. She takes a nap around 8:30 or 9. Eats again around 10. Takes another nap around 11:00 or 11:30, then eats again around 1:00 or 1:30. Then yet another nap around 2:30 or 3. Then she eats again at around 4 or 4:30 and takes a quick cat nap at 5:30 or 6. Bath at 6:30 with bedtime nursing between 7 and 7:30. I usually get her in the bed by 8!

On Saturday, we got out and went to the Gold Rush Festival. They had a parade that morning at 10 and after that we went to one of our favorite spots, The Tin Roof Cafe, and ate. Then we got out and walked around a little. Hayden got free ice cream and a balloon and I looked at some of the booths. Livee rode in her sling and slept like a, well, like a baby. :) She loved it. It reminded me of last year when my good friends Traci and Katie Jane came over from Alabama and we went to the festival in 90 degree heat. This year was not nearly as hot, so I was thankful for that. Wish my friends could have come back! Miss you guys! Here are a couple of pics from the parade:

In other news, I have had the flu this week. I had a fever for 4 days straight and aches and chills and all of that good stuff. I am finally feeling better, but still worn out! Hopefully I won't get any more sicknesses this fall. I don't think I can take anymore. Dave was off on Monday and Tuesday, so he took care of all of us and took Hayden to preschool. Next week is Hayden's flu vaccine and then the weekend after that we will head to Muscle Shoals. We'll get Livee's 3 month portrait done then, so I'm looking forward to that!

Here is Hayden as Harry Potter:

HC had to take medicine for reflux. It helped so much and she actually liked it. She was on Prevacid. She came off of it around 9 months and we haven't looked back since. Glad it's helping Livee!
